Auggie is a Mathematical Geophysicist, specialising in geophysical inversion and machine learning. Most recently, he was a postdoc in seismology at the Australian National University, researching the seismic structure of sediments in Australia and the United States, as well as regularisation approaches for inversions in geophysical exploration. His PhD in Data Intensive Science at University College London investigated Bayesian inversion methods in seismology and cosmology. This was a truly multidisciplinary project that instilled in him a drive to look beyond geophysics to other fields, leading him to join ERP and discover new avenues of research in soil science.
