Jiayao joined ERP in November 2024 as a Research Scientist based at the University of Exeter, whilst completing her PhD in Engineering Science at the University of Oxford. Her thesis focuses on the dynamic modelling of multi-physics interactions of floating wind turbines, aiming to develop more reliable and cost-effective renewable energy technologies. Jiayao also holds an MEng and BEng in Civil Engineering from Tongji University in China. With a strong foundation in structural dynamics and system identification, Jiayao is currently working on developing an optimal sensing plan for soil monitoring. She is passionate about investigating this innovative approach to provide affordable technology that empowers farmers to assess soil health, enabling more effective and sustainable agricultural practices.
