Joe Collins is a seasoned software engineer with experience delivering reliable, scalable systems across research, public sector, and industry. Before joining the Earth Rover Programme, he worked at Zengenti Ltd modernizing cloud-management platforms and leading initiatives to improve automation, resilience, and maintainability. Earlier in his career, he built innovative software for museums and cultural institutions, from interactive exhibits to machine-learning forecasting tools, and held roles at IBM, British Telecom, Ordnance Survey, and Shropshire Council.

He began as a research fellow at the University of Southampton, conducting applied studies in human performance and road safety for UK and EU agencies. Now at the Earth Rover Programme, he combines engineering depth, a research-driven mindset, and a passion for impactful, collaborative, and boundary-pushing technology.
