Vincent Bett
Research Scientist
Vincent is an emerging Sensor Engineer with a BSc in Biotechnology from Moi University and a multidisciplinary background spanning science, agronomy expert, field research and QGIS systems. His experience combines scientific data collection, field instrumentation, technical problem solving and the practical application of technology to real world challenges. Through the Asili-Sensa Project, he is developing an expertise in sensor engineering, embedded systems and scientific instrumentation while working collaboratively with researchers and engineers from the University of Nairobi, University of Exeter and Earth Rover Program.
His current work focuses on the development, testing and deployment of affordable, open-source sensing technologies, including power monitoring and optimization of the ESP32-S3 microcontroller, testing the Ver1 Exeter prototype and exploring efficient power management solutions for field deployable systems. He is also building expertise in sensor hardware, data acquisition, embedded systems and instrumentation, with the goal of contributing to reliable, energy efficient and locally adaptable technologies for Earth, environmental and agricultural science applications.
